The Granite Belt gets frost mornings and occasional snow flurries (June–August).
Black ice is possible on the New England Hwy around dawn — go slow on shaded bends. Stanthorpe's gritters do the main road; the country roads aren't gritted.
If snow's forecast: leave a buffer, don't rush.
