Mosquitoes: mild here — repellent in the bathroom cupboard.

Ticks: rare but possible in long grass. Check yourself after walking; remove with tweezers; see a doctor if you spot a bullseye rash.

Spiders: harmless huntsmen are common indoors at night — they eat the things you don't want around. Redbacks mostly live outside in dry corners (woodpile, undersides of furniture). Wear gloves at the woodpile.
